The National Gay Rodeo Association (NGRA) team, will be at Badlands Saloon in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 14, 2022, for their festive fundraising event, featuring duets, carnival games, and more. This is definitely a very significant event that you want to mark on your calendar now, so as not to miss the fun, gaiety, and action.
NGRA’S main purpose is to raise funds for charities in need within the Las Vegas community, previously including the Nevada Aids Project, Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), Golden Rainbow, and Reach Out – an organization dedicated to children afflicted with AIDS. Currently, NGRA sponsors The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada and Sin Sity Sisters AIDS Drug Assistance Program.
Since 1996, the BigHorn Rodeo is their marquee annual event, usually held in September.
The NGRA proudly boasts of having one of the largest rodeos on the West Coast.
Events in the past have characteristically included bareback and saddleback bronc riding and bull riding, speed and team roping categories, as well as hosting dancing, food, and gift vendors, as well as offering an array of thrilling family fun activities.
A few of this year’s events that the NGRA plans to hold include; A County Fair, May 14th, Cowboy Bingo, May 28th, Cow Patty competition, June 11th, Free Range Red Neck Country, July 9th, Under the Country Sun, August 13th, BigHorn Rodeo, September 16th, Bumpkin Patch, October 8th, Solute to Our Heroes, November 12th, and Family Game Night, December 10th. NGRA has been formally recognized by the Governor of Nevada, the Mayor of Nevada, and the Nevada Attorney General for their collective efforts and contributions to the Las Vegas Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender LGBTQ community.
