Virtually everything was new this year at the National Association of Broadcast (NAB) Convention. Since they had to cancel last year due to Covid-19, they have had plenty of time to evaluate and restructure their floor plan layouts and curated collections. They also included new attractions like The Streaming Experience, Apple Studios, Fuse Virtual Production and a Digital Media Bus.
My absolute favorite of all the wonderful, yet unique experiences, was the Ultimate Motorcycle Ride, virtual of course. As I sat with my legs hugging the motorcycle, the wind from the fan blew through my hair as if I was flying down the highway at ninety miles an hour, swaying from left to right. It was the most realistic motorcycle I have ever ridden.
A Nikon company, Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC) demonstrated the newest technology of camera robotics and integrated broadcast solutions. The company teamed up with Vu Studio for being the most unique experience imagined, an absolute ground-breaking production if I’ve ever seen one.
